Hi there, I'm Olivia
I manage projects. I'm a parent. An expat based in Mountain View, United States.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What started as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many expat journeys, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday chores felt more complex than they should have.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning surfaced. Gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something steady.
Why I Built Novel Ripple Harbor
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or superficial tourism content. What was lacking was an authentic, everyday family viewpoint.
